Rory McIlroy has described his first Irish Open win as ” very special” after a dramatic finish at the K Club.
A birdie at 16 was followed by eagle at the last for 12 under par and a three strokes win over his main challenger Russell Knox and Bradley Dredge.
McIlory, who also secured his first win of the year, is the first Irish winner since Shane Lowry in 2009.
