The Heritage Council has today announced funding for a number of heritage projects in County Donegal under its 2016 Community-based Heritage Grants Scheme.
In total 17 projects in Donegal will share in just over 100 thousand euro.
The joint biggest allocation is for 10,000 euro to St. Columba’s Straid Conservation Group for repair Works to the tower and west gable at St. Columba’s Church.
The Church of Ireland parish of Fahan will also receive 10 thousand euro for Phase 1 of conservation Plan for Christ Church Buncrana
The Killybegs History and Heritage Committee were granted €7,000 for their conservation project for St Catherine’s Church in Killybegs.
7,000 will be spent on the conservation of the ruins of Kilbarron Castle while the Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter Company has been awared €6,000 to conitnue their work in the conservation of Church Lane Street.
