Safety works to be carried out on N56 at Killult

Transport Infrastructure Ireland have confirmed that safety works are to be carried out on the N56 at Killut, between Falcarragh and Gortahork.
Cllr John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh says he’s been told that new road markings, including a continuous white line from Bowan Bridge to the townland of Killult, are to be installed in the coming weeks.
He says this stretch of road is notorious for being extremely hazardous, and the poor road markings on the route have long been a serious road safety issue.
He says many local residents have contacted him after experiencing dangerous overtaking and excessive speed, something he believes has been worsened by the lack of adequate markings.
