A Donegal TD says it was extremely short sighted of the government and the Department of Education not to set aside more money for the Summer Works Scheme this year, and money should be provided immediately.
Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has this week questioned the Education Minister about the fact that a number of Donegal schools were turned down under the scheme this year. In his response, Richard Bruton says some valid applications were not funded because the scheme was curtailed.
Deputy Gallagher says after a previous announcement of funding for gas and electrical upgrades, more money was expected, but that never transpired………….
