Man arrested in connection with Denis Donaldson murder released without charge

A man arrested in connection with the murder of Denis Donaldson has been released without charge.
The man aged in his forties was arrested on Thursday last and was detained at Letterkenny Garda Station for questioning.
Gardai have confirmed that the man was released on Friday last without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Donaldson was shot dead in April 2006, near his home in Glenties, Co Donegal a few months after being exposed as an agent working for MI5.
The lastest arrest came after 74 year old Patrick Gillespie of Craigvar Street, Glasgow who was charged with withholding information from the investigation and was released on a bail of 6,000 euro. He is now required to remain at a given address in Donegal and sign on each week at Letterkenny Garda station.
Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to the investigation to contact them at Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100 or any Garda Station.
