There were 13 patients on trolleys in the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning, according to the INMO, with a further five awaiting admission on the wards.
Yesterday, the hospital implemented its Full Capacity Protocol, cancelling some elective surgery and warning of delays in the Emergency Department.
Nationally, 291 people were waiting for beds in hospitals across the country.
The INMO says 243 people were on Emergency Department trolleys, while a further 48 are in overflow areas of wards.
