Cork City’s Premier Division title challenge is still on track – but they had to battle every inch of the way against relegation threatened Finn Harps in a gripping contest at Finn Park.
A controversial 69thminute penalty from man-of-the-moment Sean Maguire changed the course of the game, and left the Harps bench fuming.
Garry Buckley went down in the box under pressure from Josh Mailey and referee Paul Tuite pointed to the spot.
Harps were incensed but after all the commotion, Maguire stepped up to slam the ball past Ciaran Gallagher.
City had to play the final 15 minutes with just ten men after Steven Beattie got a second yellow card.
In a game of few chances Harps pressed hard for an equaliser and will feel they were robbed.
It’s now eight defeats on the bounce for Harps and they haven’t scored in that period either.
Elsewhere, Bohemians were 1-0 winners over Wexford Youths.
That means,  Harps, with a game in hand, remain four points above Wexford, who hold the relegation play off spot.
