John McElholm and Karl Lacey in line for Donegal coaching roles

Tyrone man John McElholm will have his name put to the Donegal County Committee this coming Monday night as the new coach for the Donegal Senior Football squad.
Loughmacrory man McElholm has been marked for the role by Declan Bonner and his assistant Paul McGonigle.
McElholm trained Killyclogher to the Tyrone Senior Championship title in 2016 and steered St Mary’s of Magherfelt to McRory Cup success last year.
It’s also understood that 2012 All Ireland winner and Player of the Year Karl Lacey is in discussions about taking on a position within the coaching set up.
Lacey, who retired from inter county football after the defeat to Galway, has been working with the county development squads since last year.
The rest of Declan’s backroom team will be confirmed on Monday night with Anthony McGrath and Gary Boyle among the names to be put forward.
