£9 million to go towards Derry and Tyrone flood repairs

An additional £9 million is to be spent on flood repairs and prevention works in Tyrone and Derry. The money will come from an extra £11 million which has been proposed for the Department of Infrastructure.
West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer says the floods had particularly adverse impact on the west and north west, placing additional strain on a roads network which was already in need of investment.
Mr Mc Aleer says many bridges and roads which were washed away have not been repaired due to financial constraints, and he had been pressing the department for the money needed for that to happen…….
