Urgent answers demanded over early closure of coastal waters to prawn fishermen

 

It’s emerged that 40 fishing boats are being prevented from fishing for prawn, even though there is uncaught quota in the waters.
Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty says the authorities have closed the strategic Porcupine Bank fishing zone to prawn fishermen, with the potential loss of €6 million.
Depity Doherty say he’s been approached by a number of Donegal fishermen who are affected by the decision, which he claimed was made in July with no explanation.
