The Rathmullan Harbour Area Development Group says the strategic and commercial importance of Rathmullan Pier is not being recognised.
At a meeting with Government Chief Whip and Donegal Deputy Joe Mc Hugh, the group said Rathmullan has the potential to be a 24 hour accessible deep water harbour able to handle large commercial vessels.
Given the uncertainties surrounding Brexit, the group says that potential must be further explored.
