Second Diabetes Consultant post approved for LUH

Health Minister Simon Harris has given the go-ahead for a new consultant at Letterkenny University Hospital to assist in the care of diabetes patients.
Government Chief Whip Joe Mc Hugh has confirmed a second endocrinologist at the hospital has been approved by the independent Consultant Application Advisory Committee.
Minister Mc Hugh has praised the work of the Donegal branch of Diabetes Ireland for their advocacy for this position which is hugely important for the care of diabetes patients in County Donegal.
He says arrangments are being made to advertise for the position, and it’s important that this happens sooner rather than later. He’s urging the HSE to ensure it provides whatever support staff are necessary.
