PSNI investigate Derry fire


Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following a fire in the Little James’ Street area of the city in the early hours of this morning.
The fire, which is being treated as suspicious, started in bins in the Kular Court area. When firefighters and police got to the scene, outside bins were on fire, and the blaze had spread to a nearby flat.
A number of residents were evacuated, the majority of whom have now been allowed to return to their homes.
The fire caused substantial damage to one flat, but police have confirmed no one was injured.
Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of the Kular Court at around 2am this morning and witnessed any suspicious activity to contact detectives at Strand Road Criminal Investigation Branch.
