Derry residents urged to be vigilant following spate of weekend burglaries

Police in Derry have urged vigilance following a spate of burglaries in the city over the weekend.
Investigations are ongoing into seven burglaries which took place between Friday and Saturday evening.
The PSNI believe that two of the burglaries are linked as enquiries continue.
Chief Inspector Simon Ball has urged members of the public to report any suspicious activity to police immediately, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
He also offered some advice to homeowners on keeping their property – and themselves safe, including cancelling milk or other deliveries when away from home, keeping valuables out of plain sight and leaving lights on when the house is empty.
