Further calls for investment in LUH after record trolley numbers


There are further calls on the Government to release funding to reopen the short stay ward at Letterkenny University Hospital after record numbers on Friday saw 56 people awaiting admission there.
46 people were waiting on trolleys in its Emergency Department while a further 13 people were waiting on wards which resulted in the Full Capacity Protocol being implemented at the hospital.
Cllr Gary Doherty says investment is the only way for the situation to be resolved.
He says the people of Donegal deserve better:
