Large crowd gathers in Letterkenny for protest against hospital overcrowding


Around 150 people are currently taking part in a demonstration in Letterkenny, protesting against overcrowding and cutback at Letterkenny University Hospital and the impact it’s having on patients.
On Friday 16th February, 56 people were waiting to be admitted at the hospital – the highest figure since records began.
The protest began at the gates of the hospital and has proceeded to the Market Square.
The ‘Still Waiting Health Campaign’ organised the march, claiming lives are being lost as a result of lengthy waiting lists, and the group is demanding more investment in health services.
