Gallagher to take European Bronze back to Two Castle’s

Peter O’Donnell and Jude Gallagher

County Tyrone’s Jude Gallagher has won bronze at the European Youth Championships in Italy.
The Two Castle’s Newtownstewart fighter guaranteed himself a medal with victory last Sunday but in Tuesday evening’s Light-Flyweight semi final, Gallagher made his exit from the competition.
He lost all five rounds but in the ring it was a much closer tussle with 2017 European Youth finalist Atilla Bernath from Hungary.
Gallagher worked hard throughout putting in a massive shift in an unrelenting 49kg battle.
Ireland is guaranteed at least four silver medals, Daina Moorehouse, Dearbhla Rooney, Evelyn Igharo and Dean Clancy won their semi-finals to book tickets into today’s gold medal deciders.
The Ireland team is under the management of Raphoe’s Peter O’Donnell.
