After a frustrating end to the season which seen Derry City finish third from bottom in the Premier Division, Kenny Shiels says he will stay as manager and he will rebuild the club.
On Friday night Derry rounded off their campaign with a 5-0 defeat in Dublin to St Patrick’s Athletic.
Derry had success in 2018 by winning the EA Sports Cup but their form in the league has been disappointing particularly in the final weeks of the season.
The Pat’s defeat was their eighth in nine games and their twentieth in the league.
