Maintenance work withdrawn in Derry after hijacking incidents

In Derry, the Housing Executive is withdrawing maintenance work from some parts of the city today after one of it’s contractors had a van hijacked.
The vehicle was one of three used in hoax security alerts across the city yesterday.
It came as another hoax device was left at the Lanark way peace wall in Belfast.
A statement from the PSNI says residents were allowed to return to their homes at 12.30am this morning, after it was declared an “elaborate hoax”.
Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan says people are on high alert after a car bomb exploded in the city on Saturday.
