There are indications that the Riverine Project is finally getting the green light, with an expectation that nine million euro in funding is about to be announced for the project.
Councillors in Strabane and the Finn valley say the project will totally transform the landscape and land use over and along the banks of the Foyle and create an outstanding visual and leisure amenity which will act as a cross border ‘Shared Space’.
Last year, an application for funding was turned down, but Cllr Gary Doherty says the indications are that the Special EU Programmes Body will announce the funding in the coming days………..
