It’s a huge year for Irish golf with the Open Championship returning to Royal Portrush for the first time since 1951. And the Amateur Championship, featuring 288 of the world’s best amateur golfers, also returns to the Republic of Ireland for the first time since it was last staged at Portmarnock seventy years ago, back in 1949.
Portmarnock along with The Island Golf Club in Donabate will host next week’s championship.
