The Lough Swilly Lifeboat was launched this morning after an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon signal was activated at Mulroy Bay.
Lough Swilly Lifeboat along with the Mulroy Coastguard and Rescue 118 helicopter were tasked to the scene at around 7:40am.
Upon arrival it emerged that the EPIRB device, which is fitted to all commercial boats, had become dislodged from a vessel and the operation was stood down.
