Public consultation opens on Carrigart-Downings cycleway

 

 
Plans for a footpath/ cycleway from Carrigart to Downings has gone out to public consultation.
People are being urged to have their say on the proposed development with the closing date for submissions Friday November 15th.
It is proposed to construct a 2.6km, 3 metre wide combined footpath and cycleway along the western margin of the R248, near Carrigart to its junction with a minor road close to the Rosepenna Hotel and Golf Resort in Downings.
The works will involve traffic management, excavation, kerb laying, concrete works, backfilling and any associated accommodation works.
Additional information in the form of an Addendum to a Natura Impact Statement which has been prepared, can be inspected at the Milford PSC.
Submissions and observations dealing with: the implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned, the likely effects on the environment, and the likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site, if carried out can be made to the board at An Bord Pleanala before 4:30pm on November 15th.
