Stormy conditions affected all parts of the country overnight after Storm Ellen made land.
Homes and businesses across the country were affected by power cuts overnight due to high winds nationwide. Worst affected was Cork where the full effects of Storm Ellen were felt between 9pm and midnight last night as part of the red alert.
The full scale of the damage in the Munster region is still being assessed.
Here, 2,503 homes and businesses are without power in the Derrybeg area, it’s estimated all should have their power restored by mid afternoon.
There are also reports of a number of trees down in the North West, with motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians being urged to be careful this morning.
