A 100 euro fine for anyone crossing the border into the Republic from the North is in effect from today.
The new measures apply to people who are not residents of the Republic.
Every adult in the car will be fined and not just the driver.
Sarah who lives in Donegal and works in Derry believes not enough consultation has been made with cross border workers.
Sarah, who’s originally from Derry, says there are many people crossing the border each way daily for legitimate reasons and feels that the new rules could cause chaos.
