Exciting new plans have been unveiled by Sligo Rovers for the redevelopment of their existing stadium at the Showgrounds along with the building of a new acadamy complex.
The project will see their ground turned into a 6,000 seater stadium and could cost over 17 million euro.
The plan has received the backing of the FAI who have described the project as visionary.
Sligo Rovers plan to open up the stadium to other sports and have already held talks with Sligo Rugby Club who will use the stadium for major matches.
