Large crowds are travelling from Donegal to Dublin today to take part in a National Demonstration seeking 100% redress for people whose homes are affected by Mica.
The Donegal participants will be joined by people from Mayo and Clare.
They will gather outside the Convention Centre where the Dail is meeting at 1.30, and then walk to Leinster House for a demonstration between 3 and 4 o’clock.
The organisers say Social Distancing will be maintained, and the event will be organised within Covid guidelines.
Chris Duddy is a spokesperson for Donegal Mica Awareness – He says politicians are beginning to see the scale of the problem, but only the people can show it:

Meanwhile, Cabinet Ministers are expected to discuss the Mica redress scheme ahead of today’s demonstration.
TDs will discuss a motion this evening calling for the Mica redress scheme to be extended from the 90/10 scheme to a 100% fully funded one.
There’s no formal memo on the issue on the cabinet agenda, but it’ll likely be discussed by Ministers as the government formulates a response.
