1,292 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the Republic today, with 331 Covid 19 patients hospitalised this morning, 54 of them in ICU.
North of the border, a further 1,831 coronavirus cases were reported today, with an additional eight covid-related deaths.
There are 472 patients being treated in hospitals for the disease in Northern Ireland, with 44 in ICU.
