The Director of Public Health in the North West is urging people to get the flu vaccine, saying because there was no flu in the area last year, people are more susceptible to it now, particularly as there is more social interaction, and people are spending more time indoors.
Dr Anthony Breslin says as of yet, flu hasn’t been reported in the North West, but it is elsewhere in the country and will make its way here.
He says while there is an increase in head colds and similar complaints, that is to be expected, and getting the flu vaccine now will protect people…………..
