‘Sliding scale’ needs to go – Mica Action Group PRO

The PRO of the Mica Action Group believes the new Mica Redress scheme has the potential to deliver a lot but some amendments are needed.

7,500 affected homes will be fixed under the revised €2.2 billion scheme and will be tackled on a ‘worst, first’ basis.

However, there is concern that a ‘sliding scale’ of a cap of €145 per sq ft for the first 1000 sq ft will result in homeowners incurring extra costs.

Michael Doherty says it can still be salvaged and they will be looking for appropriate changes to be made, one being that the sliding scale is scrapped:
