
Seven beaches in Donegal are currently under a swimming restriction notices from the EPA.
This according to their beaches.ie website.
The warning will be in place for three days as a result of forecasted heavy rainfall which can result in pollution due to surface water run-off.
Before the restrictions are removed samples will be taken with the HSE contacted for testing.
Visitors to the beaches are urged practice caution and avoid swallowing or splashing water, wash hands before handling food, avoid swimming with an open cut or wound and avoid swimming if you are pregnant or have a weakened immune system.
The beaches affected are Bundoran, Fintra, Downings, Lisfannon, Rathmullan, Portsalon and Lady’s Bay in Buncrana.
