
An Independent Cllr in Sligo warns that without investment into roads infrastructure the north west will lose its economic advancements.
Cllr Marie Casserly, who sits as an Independent, is calling for a task force on road safety to be established following multiple fatal road collisions in recent weeks including on the M9 in Kildare over the weekend.
She also calls for greater resources and technology to help assist Gardaí as well as making the courts a greater deterrent for road crime.
