Serious concern has been raised over the present state of fire hydrants in Raphoe.
It’s reported that when emergency services attended a fire in the area in recent weeks, one of the hydrants was blocked.
Crews then went to another hydrant further away, but on the same line, to find that the water pressure was extremely low.
Local Cllr Gerry Crawford has contacted the fire service and has asked them to follow it up as a matter of urgency.
He says the buck ultimately lies with Irish Water……..
