Another Irish record for Mona, and another final appearance

Mona McSharry is one of three Irish swimmers who are preparing for World Championship finals later today.

The 21-year-old – who won bronze in the 100 metres breaststroke yesterday – is through to the final of the 200 metres event at the World Short Course Championships in Abu Dhabi.

She finished 7th in her heat early on Tuesday morning, and set a new Irish record in the process.

Niamh Coyne was 14th.

McSharry’s final takes place this afternoon at 2.41pm Irish time.

Before that, at 2.05pm, Daniel Wiffen goes in the 1500 metre freestyle final, while Jack McMillan is in the 100 metres freestyle final at 2.35pm.
