Two goals from Buncrana’s Emma Doherty had the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-19s off to a winning start in Round 2 of the UEFA WU19 European Championship Qualifiers as they beat hosts Czech Republic 2-0 in Opava.
The Sligo Rovers forward was lethal in front of goal with both strikes coming in the second half.
Fellow Inishowen players Erin McLaughlin and Kerryann Brown also played in the victory.
Doherty’s goals have given Ireland the perfect start with games to come against France on Saturday and Greece next Tuesday.
