The British Prime Minister says the situation in relation to the Brexit protocol is very serious.
In a phone call with the Taoiseach, he said the balance of the Good Friday Agreement was being undermined.
He also said, recent elections had further demonstrated the protocol was not sustainable in its current form.
Both Boris Johnson and Michael Martin agreed on the vital importance of restoring the Assembly and Executive in the North, as soon as possible.
