John Hume bust to be unveiled at European Parliament today

The Taoiseach will travel to Strasbourg in France today, where he will unveil a bust in honour of former MEP and Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume.

Micheal Martin will meet representatives of the Council of Europe to mark Ireland’s Presidency this year and will also visit the European Court of Human Rights.

This evening he’ll unveil the bust of John Hume, donated to the European Parliament by the Irish Government, to mark his contribution during his 25 years as an MEP and his contributions to the Northern Ireland peace process.
