A Culdaff councillor has confirmed that lifeguards have been deployed on Culdaff Beach after a number of recent incidents in which people had to be rescued.
Cllr Johnny McGuinness says the criteria for hiring lifeguards were tightened this year, and that has led to delays in recruiting suitable people.
He told Greg Hughes on today’s Nine til Noon Show that the issue is being resolved, but the process must be made more streamlined………….
