A fisherman has been successfully winched onto a helicopter and rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital after becoming ill on board a trawler.
Lough Swilly RNLI was paged today at just after 1 o’clock this afternoon by Malin Head Coast Guard Radio to the location of the sick fisherman, 20 nautical miles off Malin Head.
He was successfully winched onboard Rescue Helicopter 118 and taken to Letterkenny Hospital.
