Pensioners are returning to the workforce because of concerns about their finances during the cost-of-living crisis.
Figures published by the Daily Mail show that the number of over 65s in the workforce is 100,500 – that’s up 12,000 from 88,500 the year before.
The paper also reports that recruitment companies are seeing more people in their 60s and 70s applying for jobs, quoting one agency saying the numbers are 3 or 4 times higher than normal.
