Bishop of Raphoe pays tribute to Creeslough explosion victims

The Bishop of Raphoe has paid tribute to those killed in the explosion in Creeslough on Friday, at Sunday mass in the village.

The ten people killed in the explosion have been formally named as 48 year old James O Flaherty, 24 year old Jessica Gallagher, 49 year old Martin McGill, 39 year old Catherine O Donnell, her son 13 year old James Monaghan, 59 year old Hugh Kelly, 49 year old Martina Martin, 50 year old Robert Garwe, his daughter 5 year old Shauna Flanagan Garwe, and 14 year old Leona Harper.

Eight further people were hospitalised after the explosion, with Gardaí saying that one man in his 20s remains in a critical condition in St James’ Hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí say that all missing people are now accounted for, and that while investigations continue as to the cause of the explosion, at this time it is thought to have been a tragic accident.
