Letterkenny Rugby Club pays tribute to teenager killed in Creeslough tragedy

Letterkenny Rugby Club has paid tribute to a teenage girl who was one of the victims of the Creeslough explosion that claimed ten lives on Friday night.

Leona Harper was a player for the club’s Under 14 girls team, and in a post on social media was described as a “talented rugby player”, with the Letterkenny Rugby Club saying they were “heartbroken” by the tragedy.

The clubhouse at the rugby club will be open to any of those wishing to “pay their respects and reflect on the events that have affected our community and so many families in such a tragic way”.

A book of condolences will also be opened by the rugby club later this Sunday evening between 5pm and 7pm for those wishing to pay their respects.
