Refugees in Donegal ‘locked out of accessing GP care’

It’s emerged refugees being housed in Donegal have effectively been locked out of accessing GP care.

It’s believed no PPS number was supplied to refugees living in Ballybofey, Carndonagh and Buncrana who instead are being forced to access care through the hospital or ambulance service.

Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle asked for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman to outline what support is being given by all agencies to meet the urgent housing needs of refugees arriving into Ireland.

Deputy Pringle says what was stated by the Minister is far from the reality on the ground:
