‘Some willingness from Minister but no assurances’ – MAG Chair

The Chair of the Mica Action Group says there appears to be a willingness from the Housing Minister to resolve a number of issues for defective block homeowners, however no assurances have been given.

Minister Darragh O’Brien and the Department of Housing met with the campaign group yesterday as well as Donegal County Council.

The need for emergency alternative accommodation, the release of the storage and accommodation allowance, the fast tracking of applications for those worst affected, the release of engineers test fees and the formulation of a plan going forward were all discussed.

Speaking following yesterday’s meetings, Lisa Hone says the focus remains on those who are living in uninhabitable properties:
