The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine has issued a call for Food Waste Reduction Initiatives proposals.
The scheme aims to identify, target and address what Minister Charlie McConalogue says is a major issue not just here in Ireland but globally.
Over 1 million tonnes of food waste is generated every year.
€180,000 in funding is available.
