Labour Court talks to take place today in attempt to resolve retained firefighter dispute

Talks take place at the Labour court today to try to resolve the dispute threatening retained fire services across the country.

Around 2,000 retained, or part-time firefighters, have been conducting rolling strikes and work stoppages in recent weeks as they campaign for better pay and conditions.

However the SIPTU trade union has agreed to suspend the strike action to allow for today’s Labour court hearing.
