Rory Gallagher will not be returning to manage Derry.
The Oak Leaf county confirmed that they have completely ruled out the possibility of reinstating Gallagher as manager, that’s according to Cahir O’Kane of the Irish News.
Earlier this week, Ciaran Meenagh said he would not be looking to stay on in the role he took over after Gallagher stepped back following allegations of domestic abuse.
Just last weekend, Gallagher was photographed taking training with Corduff in County Monaghan which lead to Ulster GAA releasing a statement saying he was temporarily “debarred without prejudice” from the GAA.
That ban will remain in place until the provincial body’s adult safeguarding review into the claims is completed.
Former Ulster winning manager with Monaghan Malachy O’Rourke is seen as the favourite to take on the Derry job.
He lead Glen Maghera to the All Ireland club final last year.
