The North’s Infrastructure Minister says he expects there will be further legal challenges to the A5 upgrade if the go ahead is given for the plan later this year.
Answering questions from West Tyrone MLAs Daniel McCrossan and Declan McAleer, Minister John O’Dowd said he and his officials have the report from Planning Appeals Commission following the most recent public inquiry, and will examine its recommmendations very carefully before announcing a decision.
Minister O’Dowd said he shares their frustration at the slow pace of progress, but stressed that rushing into a decision without considering all of the ramifications would be a grave mistake.
