The man who died as a result of a collision involving a motorcycle and police vehicle has been named as 68 year old Richard Edwards.
The crash happened shortly after 1pm in the vicinity of Maydown Police Station in Derry on Wednesday.
Mr Edwards, who was from the Derry area, died in hospital later from his injuries.
The collision investigation unit continue to appeal for information while they continue enquires.
