Jack Chambers is to be formally appointed as the new Finance Minister this afternoon.
The Fianna Fail deputy leader will take over from Michael McGrath, who has been nominated by the government as Ireland’s EU Commissioner.
His appointment to the senior ministry is to be ratified by the Dail later today.
